PhotoVoice Entries
The Bukelani Institute, proudly presents PhotoVoice 2025 Series. The First of four instalments s focused on Creatives and Culture.
Bukelani Institute invites content creators to submit a picture that captures African heritage, art and culture. The picture must be narrated (given a meaning) in no more than 200 words.
Entries close on 31 May 2025. A winning entry will get a cash prize of R1 000.

Call for Papers: Biodiversity & Oceans Summit
The Biodiversity and Oceans Summit is a dynamic, high-level event dedicated to discussing the future of biodiversity conservation and ocean sustainability. Held annually, the Summit brings together thought leaders, policy makers, scientists, and social entrepreneurs to address the most pressing environmental issues facing our oceans and biodiversity.
The Call for Abstracts is open until 31 May 2025.

CultureFest : Call for Performers
The Bukelani Institute invites musicians, dancers, poets, visual artists, performance artists, and cultural creatives from across South Africa to submit expressions of interest to perform or showcase their work at CultureFest 2025.
CultureFest is an annual celebration of African creativity, identity, and innovation.
We are looking for artists and collectives whose work reflects:

African heritage and contemporary expression
-
Themes of community, transformation, and justice
-
Youth voices, indigenous storytelling, and activism through art
-
Cross-disciplinary or experimental performance formats.
Artists interested in performing at CultureFest 2025 should submit their proposed performance information by 15 June 2025
Call for Papers - Social Enterprise Forum on Africa 2025
The Bukelani Institute invites scholars, social enterprise leaders, impact practitioners, policymakers,
and ecosystem builders to submit papers for presentation at the Social Enterprise Forum on Africa
(SEFoA) 2025.
We welcome contributions (theoretical, empirical, or practice-based) across the following tracks:

Impact Measurement and Evaluation.

Youth and Women-led Social Enterprises.

Social Finance (Finance for Good).

Climate, Biodiversity and Regenerative Livelihoods.

Creatives and Cultural Industries
