Innovating for Impact. Building Purpose-Driven Futures.
At Bukelani Institute’s Social Enterprise Practice, we are nurturing a new generation of changemakers — bold thinkers and doers who believe business can be a force for good.
We work with aspiring and emerging social entrepreneurs to launch, strengthen, and scale ventures that tackle real societal challenges.
Whether addressing youth unemployment, food insecurity, education access, or climate resilience, our programmes are designed to equip individuals with the skills, tools, and networks to drive sustainable change.

Social Enterprise Forum on Africa 2025
The Social Enterprise Forum on Africa 2025 builds on the success of previous forums, particularly the 2024 theme, Measuring and Communicating Impact.
As social enterprises increasingly demonstrate their value in addressing social, economic, and environmental challenges, there is a growing need to move beyond impact measurement and embed social change into systems and policies.
This year’s theme, Scaling Impact: From Measurement to Systemic Change, will explore strategies to scale impact, mobilize funding, build partnerships, and create sustainable ecosystems for social enterprises across Africa.
The forum will bring together entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, and ecosystem enablers to discuss actionable pathways for embedding impact into governance structures, markets, and policies.

Innovating for Impact Programme
The Innovating for Impact Programme, delivered by Bukelani Institute, is a forward-thinking educational initiative aimed at equipping Grade 9 learners with innovation and problem-solving skills to address real-world challenges.
The Innovating for Impact Programme targets seven schools across four districts: Ugu, eThekwini Metro, iLembe, and King Cetshwayo. It will run from March 2025, culminating in the Finals at Durban Botanical Gardens on 10 July 2025.
This programme focuses on fostering creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration among learners through a series of workshops and project-based learning, without community participation.
