Empowering Communities | Building Livelihoods | Driving Social Impact
At Bukelani Institute’s School for Society, we are nurturing a new generation of changemakers — bold thinkers and doers who believe business can be a force for good.
The School for Society is Bukelani Institute’s practical development platform for building social innovation, sustainable livelihoods, enterprise capability, and community economic participation.
It works with young people, communities, farmers, entrepreneurs, cooperatives, schools, and development partners to turn real-world challenges into practical solutions, income pathways, and long-term impact.
The School for Society is accredited by FP&MSETA; and Services SETA & AgriSETA (under S84 Learnovate brands)
About School for Society at Bukelani Institute
The School for Society exists to support people and communities to move from ideas to action.
It brings together capacity building, enterprise development, farming support, market access, finance readiness, mentorship, and impact learning into one integrated ecosystem.
The School is designed around a simple belief:
Communities do not lack ideas.
They need platforms, tools, support, markets, and confidence to turn those ideas into sustainable livelihoods.
Our Theory of Change
If communities, young people, farmers, and entrepreneurs are supported with practical learning, enterprise tools, mentorship, market access, and finance readiness, then they can build viable initiatives that solve local problems, create income, and strengthen community resilience.
Over time, this leads to more inclusive local economies, stronger livelihoods, and communities that participate meaningfully in shaping their own futures.

Innovating for Impact
Innovating for Impact is a practical schools and community innovation platform that helps young people identify real societal challenges and develop creative, community-rooted solutions with local relevance and long-term potential.
The programme introduces participants to systems thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, creativity, and social innovation through immersive and participatory activities. Rather than focusing only on theory, participants are encouraged to engage directly with challenges affecting their schools, communities, environments, and everyday lives.
