Essential Oils

A crop can be the beginning of a much wider story. Bukelani Institute works at the point where growing knowledge, enterprise capability and market readiness meet, helping people prepare to participate in the essential oils value chain.

Essential Oils

1

Community Roots creates an entry point for people and emerging enterprises to build their understanding of essential oils production and the responsibilities of participating in a value chain. Training and mentorship connect learning with the practical journey of establishing and developing an enterprise.

Bukelani Institute focuses on capacity building, including training, mentorship, enterprise development and support for organic-certification readiness. The work helps growers understand the capabilities, records and practices they need to strengthen as they progress.

3

OrganicWorth supports the journey through its essential oils enterprise and organic-certification readiness tracks. Structured assessment helps an enterprise identify gaps and organise a Journey Plan. Learning and follow-up can support the improvements required. Readiness assessment does not award organic certification. Certification requires assessment and approval by the appropriate independent certification body.

BNX Bukelani provides a commercial counterpart to the Institute’s development work. Its role includes the supply of seedlings, distillation and market development, with purchasing and off-take governed by agreed commercial arrangements. The Institute leads its learning and development responsibilities, while BNX manages its commercial commitments.

We welcome conversations with growers, training institutions, technical specialists, funders and buyers. Partners can contribute to learning, demonstration, enterprise support or a defined commercial opportunity. Each relationship begins with clarity about responsibilities, resources and the results being pursued.
